Getting started
We encourage you to apply early, however, to give yourself the best opportunities for early housing selection and scholarship consideration. Students who have completed their junior year in high school, or transfer students, can begin applying for the following year. Due to the current circumstances of COVID and the challenges with standardized testing, we are extending our scholarship deadline to Feb. However, we will begin awarding some competitive scholarships as early as December, so we encourage you to submit your application materials including test scores as early as they are available for consideration.
Students who are eligible for a Pell Grant as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid will complete the online process and have their enrollment deposit deferred. You must submit all application materials including essays by this deadline for full scholarship consideration at OSU. During your summer session, you will meet with academic advisers, confirm your academic college and major, enroll in classes, meet other new students and learn about campus resources.
Fall incoming freshmen
Orientation is mandatory for new students. The housing application allows you to choose a roommate and indicate your living preferences. Room selection dates will be determined based on the date and time you complete your housing application. Admitted students who have completed their housing application, applied to and been selected for a Living Learning Program will select a room in March.
